Saint Antony
He was born in Russia in 983 A.D. and arrived at Mount Athos in 1012 A.D., where he stayed as a monk in the monastery of Esfigmenou, near the elderly Theoktistos. He returned to Russia and became the father of the Monastic Order of the Russians until the reigning period of Siatopolkos who started persecutions against the monks. He went back to Mount Athos until the reign of Yaroslav who restored order in Russia allowing the return of many monks. In Russia, Saint Antony built the famous monastery of Petserskvoi, where he lived until his death, at the age of 90 years old. His memory is celebrated on July 10.
