Saint Raisha
The Saint and Martyr Raisha (or Iraida) suffered for her Christian faith during the reign of the Emperor Maxentios (305-312). She lived in Alexandria as a nun in the local monastery. According to tradition, she followed the fate of many imprisoned believers - men, women, monks, priests - who were transported by ship from Alexandria to Antinoe of Egypt. She was imprisoned, tortured and executed, probably in 308 A.D.
